Sunday, January 15, 2012 -- National Wear Red Day for Women takes place on Friday February 3rd, 2012, and is an annual national public awareness day to spotlight & inform women about heart disease and the risk of stroke in women.
On behalf of the American Heart Association New Jersey, and to talk more about this important day, 30-year-old heart transplant survivor Andrea Fuller will be on hand to share her amazing story. Andrea was perfectly healthy until late 2009, when a virus attacked her heart. After being diagnosed with end-stage congestive heart failure -- her heart barely beating on its own -- Andrea was on a wait list for a new heart. On July 21, 2010 she got the call she'd been waiting for and received a life-saving transplant. Today, Andrea is back to pursuing her marketing career and has even started jogging. Andrea is an American Heart Association “Go Red For Women” Survivor Ambassador and is passionate about raising awareness about cardiovascular disease in women.

Sunday, November 18, 2012 -- On November 20th, many Princeton-area businesses will come together in an effort to aid those affected by Hurricane Sandy, particularly those in the New Jersey coastal area, through the Princeton Hurricane Sandy Relief Drive. All are invited to shop and dine locally at participating businesses in the Princeton region, where a percentage of sales from that dedicated day will be donated to New Jersey coastline local community relief efforts, as well as the American Red Cross.
